5 Important Reasons Why You Are Overweight
So many factors could be responsible why some people are overweight. These factors include diet, lack of physical activity or exercise, living a sedentary lifestyle, stress, frustration, worries, medical conditions, and genetics.
Most people complain that they don’t eat as much as their friends, but they end up adding weight significantly.
People vary a lot in how many calories they can actually burn up. Perhaps the thyroid has something to do with this at least in some cases.
The bottom line is, you are gaining weight. It means only one thing you are taking in more calories than your system needs.
Nature hates to waste good food. So instead of tossing out those extra calories, she stores them neatly away in the form of fat for future use.
Just how many calories do you need per day? depends on a number of factors such as the kind of work you do, your age, your body build, and the type of physical activities you are involved with.
A laborer may require up to 5,000 calories a day. But an office secretary may do well on 18000 calories a day.
It all depends on how active we are. At a younger age, say 25 years of age you usually burn up calories without any difficulty.
As you get older probably from 35, the situation begins to change. You become less active.
You use the car more often, you also sit down more often and perhaps use labor-saving devices to spare yourself further exertion.
The truth is you should be mindful of your food intake it should correlate with the level of physical activity.
